Flourish

What does it look like to do ministry that is both faithful and just?

Flourish: A Journal of Progressive Ministry was created to help leaders explore that question—with depth, honesty, and imagination.

Launched Fall 2025, Flourish is a new biannual peer-reviewed journal connected to Progressive Youth Ministry and sponsored by the Missing Voices Project. Each issue features theological praxis essays, practical ministry tools, liturgies, book reviews, and resource guides—designed to equip those leading transformative, justice-rooted ministry with youth, children, and young adults.

Rooted in the inclusive and compassionate way of Jesus, Flourish fosters critical theological reflection and practical innovation for real-world ministry contexts. It is a space where scholarship meets the sacred work of nurturing people and planet alike.

The inaugural issue, themed Defiant Hope, invites voices that resist despair and embrace bold, justice-driven ministry for emerging generations. It is an invitation to imagine ministry that doesn't just respond to the world—but helps transform it.
